WINEMONGER IMPORTS NAMED AS ONE OF THE BEST NEW SPECIALIST IMPORTERS IN THE U.S. BY WINE & SPIRITS MAGAZINE

In the fall special issue of Wine & Spirits magazine, your Winemongers, Stephan and Emily Schindler Weissman, have been named as one of the best new specialist importers in the U.S. We’ll admit it- we’re blushing a bit. But it is nice to know that somebody out there is noticing what you’re doing, when all along you assume you are working in relative anonymity outside of the sommeliers, wine buyers and loyal customers we have come to know over these past 5 years.

And that said- we would like to thank those sommeliers, wine buyers and loyal customers for supporting us so that we could continue to expand our portfolio to bring you more up-and-coming Austrian wineries, alongside greater selections from the top brands we’ve had the honor to import from the start.

In an unrelated article in the same issue of the magazine, this website is highlighted on the timeline as being a part of Generation Next in Innovations in Wine Retail. We are the example of the micro-specialist who use the California law which allows an importer to also sell direct to consumers via the internet- a feat which is illegal in most if not all other states as a violation of those arcane 3-tier-laws. And, as many of you know, we also have taken advantage of the Granholm v. Heald Supreme Court ruling to ship wines to folks in lots of other states, too.

If any of you are in San Francisco this coming October, we hope you’ll consider attending the Wine & Spirits Best Wineries in the World event. Feiler-Artinger has been named to the list this year, and we will be on hand pouring the wines and would love to meet any and all of you.

Apparently we are rebels who rock the best in the world of wine. Who knew?
