Winemonger Supports the MENU FOR HOPE II
We here at Winemonger are proud to support the efforts of Pim Techamuanvivit, of the fabulous food blog chez pim, as she puts together a wealth of amazing prizes which you can win, raffle style, in exchange for your donations to help UNICEF support the victims of the earthquake in the Kashmir region of Northern India and Pakistan.
It’s the Menu for Hope II.
For every $5.00 you donate, you’ll get a chance to win one of the prizes on the menu. The more you donate, the better your chances.
There are dozens of different prizes (something like 70!), such as gourmet baskets, restaurant meals, cookbooks, and opportunities to discover people and places you might not usually get access to (or to name a newborn lamb).
Prizes like a wine class for you and ten of your friends from Beau Jarvis, of the wine blog Basic Juice. If you live in/near any metropolitan area in North America, Beau will hop on a plane and bring himself, the wine and a fabulously fun wine class to your door. You can select from any of the wine classes listed at basicjuice.com. He would also be happy to build a custom class around the interests of you & your friends.
Or, Alder Yarrow, founder and editor of Vinography (another great wine blog) will use his insider knowledge to help you plan an exclusive and unique tour of either Napa or Sonoma wine country. After understanding your taste preferences and travel dates, Alder will provide an itinerary for your stay that includes the best of what California Wine Country has to offer. Your tour will include access to wineries that are not open to the public as well as meetings with little-known, small producers who are making some of the best and most exclusive wines in America. Restaurant and sightseeing recommendations will also be included. Whether you want to hit the most famous landmarks of Napa, or stay off the beaten track, Alder will help you make your wine country vacation truly unforgettable. (Please note that this auction item includes consultation and information only. You will be responsible for making your own reservations and travel arrangements.)
Or how about the chance to shadow Michelin-star chef Stéphane Molé of Les Ormes, in Paris, for the day. Yes, you would have to get yourself over to Paris, but what a great excuse to go!
Or three gorgeous prints of produce from photographer Jason Meagher.
A basket of gourmet goodies from Gascony, France.
A $200 dinner at Manresa, in Los Gatos, California.
And of course, our favorite half-case sampler of Austrian wines, A Taste of Austria.
